Are you bothered?

When one works for themselves, you look to those who came before you. There are lots of artists that offer us inspiration. The ones who succeed, we take what they have learned and try to apply those lessons to what we are doing. The ones who aren’t, well, we take that experience and tuck it away to remember and also remember a good idea, poorly done, is just as bad. There is so much to juggle. Not only making the art you want to sell, but also the booking of shows, the advertising, marketing, promotions, blogging, emails, etc. We’ve been doing this full time for

Getting it together

It’s been an interesting couple of months. We have had a lot going on personally as well as professionally. We’ve been R&D-ing our parts off to come up with some new designs both for jewelry and props. It’s amazing how much you learn just from one show to the next. We’d like to thank all of the people who came to see us at Phoenix Fan Fest and Keen Halloween! Both were fantastic conventions and we not only got to see some old friends, but made new ones! When you run your own business……

you become a professional cat herder. Seriously. I kid you not. I was having a conversation a few days ago with an acquaintance (a friend would have known better) when they said to me, “Man, it must be nice to work for yourself. No boss, all the vacation time you want, whenever you want….blah blah.” I could go on. I won’t. What I will say is this: I do have a boss. She is a bitch.
