An epiphany

I was on a couple of mental health days recently and during that time I played a game of $1/$2 limit Texas Hold ’em. I sat at the last empty seat across from a man wearing a fur duster and a giant black hat. Mother of pearl buttons….you get the idea. I’d say he was maybe 26 or so. Old enough to know about manners at least. I sat through about eleven hands before I got something worth playing. I played the hand and won. At this point BBH (Big black hat) says something he probably thought was witty and

Early in the am…

This morning I decided to clean up my studio as it looks like a tornado of beads swept through it. I’ve been working all week on replacing jewelry that I’ve sold and new pieces for a show I’m doing in a week. As I was putting beads and shosh away, I decided that I’d make something for myself. Something small to wear on the short vacation that I’m taking. I gave myself 45 minutes to design and put the piece together. This is what I came up with: FacebookTwitterGoogle+BufferPin ItEmail

Awesome Weekend!

The Holiday Art Fair at Reid Park was a success! We met lots of cool people and had a gas! There were tons of local artists (shout-out to Jeff Rutherford at J. Olive Design. Just beautiful glass work. You can check out his stuff here : jolivedesign.etsy.com . And Monica at Southwest Bee Supply Inc. Delicious honey!) and a lot of new faces. I even saw with my very own peepers a woman pilfering a altered matchbox I made! She slipped it right into her purse! I couldn’t believe it! It was kinda funny actually. I figured it was too

More progress

So I finally got my FestivalNet.com site up and running. I joined them so I could get a listing of almost all of the art, craft, music, food, and beer festivals where they might want artists like me. They allow me my own site with up to 5 product listings that I can sell right from there, a blog, along with the festival information that I want. That’s just with the basic (read free!) membership. I wanted to see how it worked out before I consider upgrading for a year. This isn’t a plug for them. Just giving you the

Finally rolling…

After a roller coaster ride that has been the last several months, I forced myself to sit the hell down and upload some shiny needful things to my website. It’s interesting to go back through art that you’ve made. Especially if some time has passed since the last time you looked at it. I don’t know about you but I find that most of the time, I feel the need to take a piece apart in order to make it better. I sorted through a lot of photos of things I’ve made and I can’t wait to make more. It’s
