Growing up I was obsessed with many things but dragons were near the top. These are heraldic dragons. I used pigment ink and gold metallic gel.
And the Sphinx? My Grandpa was really fond of riddles and brain teasers and would always use them as a way of distracting two rambunctious, curious girls on long road trips. I remember when he asked me “What walks on four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon and three legs in the evening?” That one kept my quiet for a hundred miles at least. When he finally relented and told me what the answer was, and where the riddle originated, I was hooked. I had some different map papers and I found some that I liked and layered it with the Sphinx I inked.
