I’ve been fascinated by the Venus Flytrap plant since I was a kid. I remember they used to sell them out of the back of some of the magazines I used to read. Meat eating plant….pretty cool.
This is a square, double brass hinged recycled cigar box. It has been cleaned, sanded, primered and painted a deep, classic burgundy.
The image of the Venus Flytrap with resident flies, is hand inked and is layered on faux weathered wood art paper and decoupaged onto the lid. The side panels and front panel have a hand stamped and inked image of tangled flower and vine work. These images are also layer on the same art paper as the lid. The back panel has the art same art paper as the rest of the box. The bottom of the box is felted.
